Vatit Virashpanth and Itthi Metanee are the creators behind
Vatit Itthi, a ready-to-wear line
that combines timeless elegance with a twist for modern women.
Vatit and Itthi met and started working together as costume
designers while they were
students more than a decade ago in Bangkok, Thailand. Their
clients in Bangkok include
the Bangkok Playhouse, Mazda, Christian Dior, Shiseido, Motorola
and Nissin.
After a few years of collaboration, Vatit went to fashion
school in Atlanta, Georgia. Itthi
went to work as a writer and producer for a TV production
company in Bangkok. Soon after,
Vatit
moved to Chicago and landed a job as an assistant designer
in a couture shop. Itthi
soon joined him in Chicago where he continued his theatre
studies.
In 2002, Vatit and Itthi decided to make Chicago their second
home. They formed Vatit Itthi,
a clothing line that represents who they are and what they
love. Vatit Itthi became part of
Chicago’s fashion community and landed a spot in Chicago
is Red Hot, hosted by Mayor
Richard Dailey.
In 2005, their hard work pays off when they are awarded as
up and coming fashion designers.
They were honored as Style Makers & Rule Breakers, an
event hosted by Fashion Group
international of Chicago.
